Hidden Amber - Organic Cooked Puerh
Dark leaves with an earthy aroma unfurl to reveal a red-orange tea liquor of subtle sweetness. Harvested from ancient wild tea trees in old-growth forests this tea is deeply sustaining and nourishing.
|Flavour||Sweet, earthy. Notes of strawberry, vanilla and black pepper.|
Nourishing. Restorative. Warming.
Hidden Amber is deeply nourishing, warming and sustaining. It is grounding, settling and restorative. Ideal if you are feeling exhausted, frail, spent or weak - it is the ‘chicken soup’ of our teas. Used as a weight-loss tea in China as it suppresses the appetite.
|Origin||Hidden Amber is an organic, wild-harvested cooked (shou) puerh produced by a fairtrade tea cooperative in Yunnan, Southern China. Leaves are plucked from wild tea trees standing over 20 feet tall in old-growth forests and processed by hand.|
|Quantity||50g (28p per serving)|
Hidden Amber should be ‘washed’ i.e. the first infusion should be discarded as this will ‘open’ the tea and allow the leaves to release their full flavour for 6+ infusions.
The traditional way to make living tea is to use a small pot with a generous amount of leaves. The leaves are then used for multiple, short infusions. Living tea made this way brings out all of its taste, vibrancy and complexity.
